Google may be preparing to unveil its smart glasses at the Google I/O Developer Conference next week.
In the Google I/O promotion, Android Ecosystem president Sameer Samat showed off what looked like smart glasses.
Samt hadn’t spoken directly about the device, but when he wore his glasses, he said that Google I/O participants would have the opportunity to see “some more really cool Android demos.”
Using CSI-style enhancement capabilities (aka “YouTube screenshots”), the Ray-Ban Wayfarer-style clear glasses appear to have a single camera sensor in the temple on the left.
Also, anything that appears to have an LED above the camera sensor indicates that it is more likely to notify others when a video or photo is being taken.
The thick arms of the glasses may be packed with batteries and onboard processors. This could be due to Samat’s bullying, which is likely running a future version of the Android XR operating system. Especially just below the left arm, you can see a small slit near the Samut’s ears, probably due to integrated audio. Or maybe it’s not an AA slit at all, but a button of some sort.
On the other hand, apples may have their own smart glasses ready. Bloomberg The company maintains reports currently develops task-specific processors.
In any case, I would like to see more details on Google I/O. This will feature live streaming keynotes, developer sessions and more at Google I/O, which is scheduled to start May 20th and 21st. Outside of keynotes that could actually be mentioned in Android XR, the event is set to include two developer talks exclusively for Android XR.
Of course we will tune, but we will be able to watch the keynote on YouTube on Tuesday, May 20th from 10am (local time here).
Check out the following moments:
