summary
- Astorobot had a war cameobot loved by composer Bear McCraery.
- Team Asobi won five additional awards for release after Astorobot.
- Sony is considering Astorobot movies for the success of the game.
Team Asobi packed a bunch of cameo bots into multiple cameo bots when it was released last year. Perhaps one of the most adorable is the reference to Sony’s God of War franchise.
This moment not only put smiles on the faces of many people, but even one of the people behind the God of War franchise really dug it.
God of War Composer told Team Asbobi how much he loves Astorobot
God of War Composer Bear McCreary spoke to VGC about the time he had the opportunity to meet Team Asobi. I met them the day they came to town for the Game Awards. I loved it. I loved Rebel,” McClairy said.
Astorobots featured a war-themed level of gods, but their music changed somewhat, not worked by McClairy, but by Kenny Young.
“What Kenny did for me is that when I reached a war-level bot and heard these three notes it has nothing to do with them being completely recontextualized. It doesn’t matter that they were redoubted in this fun electro-pop style.
“It makes me so proud of myself because I really made something because it really hit me,” McClairy added.
I’m very happy to hear it. Hopefully, if you get the Astorobot sequel, there will be more cameos. Of course, Team Asobi could unleash another wave of free content that brings not only new levels but also new bots.
Sony hasn’t announced a sequel to the Platformer, but it’s clear that it’s a key franchise for the company. The success of Astro Bot has led the company’s CEO to push further such family-friendly games, with Sony pursuing Astro Robot movies.
Please let our readers know if Team Asobi reveals more content from Astro Bot. Whether it’s free content or not, increasing Astro Bots is a good thing for video games.
