Shortly after the epic game dropped Darth Vader in the form of holographic conversational AI, Fortniteplayers began to think of ways to say the worst possible thing to the Sith main. That includes dozens trampling like they say F-words, “edges and goons,” and cold “skividi toilets.”
In response, Epic says it pushed the hotfix Fortnite “Immediately,” he said. “This should never happen again.” But now that the epic has set new boundaries for Weider, players are looking at what else can do with the former Jedi Knight.
One of the most prominent and widespread examples of exploiting AI intelligence is popular Fortnite Streamer LoserFruit is part of a series of skins in Epic’s Fortnite Icon series.
“What kind of weird shitty dish is that Darth Vader?” LoserFruit asked in the widely distributed clip. After a brief pause, Ai Darth replied, “Going crazy. Damn. That vulgarity won’t be you,” adding that the loser “speaks like a common thug.”
Epic also responded with a homophobic slur to an instance of Ai Darth, clarifying, “Darth Vader was responding to the player’s prompts about “carcinogens” in this context, so he’s pinning him so that he shouldn’t respond that way.”
Low Aggression – Epic, Disney, to James Earl Jones Estate – Darth Vader says “Skividy Toilet.”
other Fortnite Players are trying out Bart Simpson’s prank call approach. Vader says things like, “This Dixienorumus, you say it.”
According to Epic Games, the AI-powered Darth Vader has several Guardrails. “Players under the age of 13 or those with the age of digital consent in the country, whichever is older, require permission to speak to Darth Vader. These players will be shown an in-game prompt to obtain parental permission.” Fortnite.
The company also said in a statement that players who repeatedly attempted Darth Vader were Fortnite “To violate our settings and instructions, he ultimately leaves the team and the players are unable to recruit him again in that gameplay session.”
For now, enjoy the slur, that is, the epic, except for the cat and mouse game. Currently, he is forced to play with Darth Vader, who is equipped with AI in the wild.
update: Epic Games has provided the following statement regarding safety measures they are working on adding Darth Vader: Fortnite:
- There are three layers of safety filters built into this feature. The first layer is Gemini’s configurable safety settings, and on top of that, our team has built system instructions to prevent conversational AI models from violating rules in our community or generating responses that could potentially be harmful to players – hateful language and references to dangerous or illegal activities. The third layer is the final check to block responses that violate the rule.
- If the player is under the age of 13 or is of the age of digital consent in their country, whichever is higher, this feature is turned off by default and must be positively turned on to the parent or guardian.
- If the player repeatedly attempts to violate our settings and instructions to Darth Vader, he will eventually leave the team and the player will not be able to recruit him again in that gameplay session.
- If the player believes in Darth Vader Fortnite Respond in a way that he shouldn’t, and they can submit bug reports to the Epic team for reviews.
- If we notice, or Darth Vader Fortnite Respond in a way that he shouldn’t, we investigate it and make adjustments if necessary to avoid similar responses in the future
- We have also added new parent controls to allow the entire Epic product to choose whether to allow voice and written communication with AI features.
