Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the new RPG and debut title for French studio Sandfall Interactive. It’s a blend of immersive storytelling and challenging gameplay, and there’s nothing else to look like. Maxroll is working on a useful guide to Expedition 33. Let’s get started. It teaches game mechanics, helps you find valuable booty and hone your build. Maxroll’s Codex has weapons, skills, picts and lumina to prepare you for the challenges you face on the continent. For Theorycrafty type, you can create your own builds using Maxroll’s Expedition 33 Planner and share them in the Community Build section.

Get started

Get started in the world of Expedition 33 with character guides, beginner resources, and Max Roll’s Pict Guide. If you’re looking for a step-by-step companion guide to catch up while you’re playing, check out Passthecontroller’s Expedition 33 Walkthrough.

Beginner’s Guide

Maxroll’s comprehensive beginner’s guide to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 introduces the game’s core mechanics, including exploring the world, fighting Nebron, each playable character, and its own mechanic, as well as the game’s progression system, including weapons, attributes, Pictos, Lumina and more. Passthecontroller’s 10 Things Expedition 33 won’t tell you about a short guide to easily ripe things you should know.

Battle Guide

Weapons, attributes, upgrades

Weapons are the central part of building a team in Expedition 33. Each weapon (and character skills) handles a variety of elemental damage types. Each character has a variety of weapons that increase the attribute scaling of the level, and unlock special bonuses at levels 4, 10, and 20. Read more about weapons, attributes and upgrades.

Pictus and Lumina

undefined

Pictos are any item that gives statistics and various unique effects. Each character can equip three picts, but you can get even more special effects using the Lumina system. If you’re struggling to meet, change your Pitot to gain more defenses, add damage, or buff your team with shells or powerful ones. Learn more about Expedition 33’s core progression features, Pictos and The Lumina System. Use ING’s Pictos checklist to track where you can and where you can find it.

Early Game Pict Guide

undefined

The Pictos system provides plenty of space to customize your party and build each character the way you want, but there are some particularly powerful pictos during the early games. Keep an eye out for Dead Energy II and Critical Burn. Turn one character into a super tank with complete side content from the “Lone Wolf” style final stand Pictos and recovery!

character

Learn about each playable character in Expedition 33, unique mechanics and skills in the Max Roll character skill guide.

More Guides

How to unlock all traversal abilities in Esky

Esky can break through obstacles, swim, fly, and even dive under the sea. As you progress through the game, you will learn how to unlock all of Esky’s abilities.

It has nothing to do with Esquie, but did you know that you can break a black rock with a blue crack?

The pros and cons of the enemy

Learn about the strengths and weaknesses of enemies you encounter on the continent. Don’t use absorbing elements as it abuses your enemy’s weaknesses to deal 50% damage and heals them rather than damaging them!

Zone progression

If you feel lost after completing the game’s story, Maxroll covers the zone progression guide. Passthecontroller also has a list of Expedition 33 side quests that include rewards. So you can determine which is worth completing.

Best paint

Learn the best picts to equip both in early games and endgames. The Maxroll guide details detail Pictos that provide general power to use more niche uses, empowering new build archetypes.

Codex

undefined

Maxroll’s Expedition 33 Codex has information about the various weapons, Pictos, Luminas, and skills available in the game. You can also adjust the level at the top to see the weapon/Pictos scale.

Building a Planner and Community

undefined

Plan your build using Maxroll’s Expedition 33 Builder and share it using the Community Builds section! Let’s take a look at some of the key features of the planner.

undefined

Here are some features to keep in mind when using Maxroll’s Expedition 33 Planner:

  1. Select your character and set up your active party. If you want to create different teams (using a unique setup for each character), you can do so here too. At the top, select optional tags such as “Story” or “Post Story.” Use this section to navigate between each character on your team and change the setup.
  2. Select a weapon and then adjust the level. As you make changes to power and scaling, attributes are currently not considered.
  3. – Select the six skills used by the character.
    • Note: Gradient skills are excluded here, but you can learn more about them in Codex!
  4. Choose your pict, you can use each pict once with your entire team. Select the correct level to view the statistics each added.
  5. Adding Lumina here will display the point count at the top.
  6. Could I assign attributes and use weapon scale?
  7. Statistics are displayed here based on damage to pict, attributes, and base weapons.
  8. Add some notes and tell people about your skills rotation and where you found some of the cool things you’re using.
  9. Publish your builds and share them with the community.
