Elden Ring Nightreign sold 2 million copies on its first day.
“Pre-orders and early sales have pushed the game beyond an incredible 2 million units milestone,” published publisher Bandai Namco.
The multiplayer cooperative spinoff was released overnight and soon shot the most played chart of steam with 313,593 peak simultaneous users.
Of course, it doesn’t tell the whole story, as both Microsoft and Sony withhold numbers for Xbox and PlayStation players. But fromsoftware has given us the idea of how big the Eldenling Night League is, with the announcement that 2 million copies are already on sale.
Eldenling was a huge hit, selling 30 million people since its release in 2022, but Nightreign is unlikely to come close to its success. For a better context, Shadow of the ERDTREE Expansion sold 5 million copies within three days of its 2024 release. It will be interesting to see if sales figures will be announced at the same time for Eldenling Naituchelin.
Despite the huge player numbers, not everything is going well with the Eldenling Night League. There is a “mixed” user review rating on Steam, where complaints are being developed around a shortage of duo or voice chat with two co-ops. Players are also complaining about the cruelly difficult solo experience. He also complains how difficult it is to find friends to make enough numbers to fill a team of three players. A patch to make solo play easier is scheduled for next week.
As explained in Passthecontroller’S Elden Ring Nightreg Review: “Let’s get the most important caution out of the way first. We’re not a hardcore Eldenling player who wants to tackle night twitch completely solo and actively seeks ways to further challenge an already difficult game. This comes from people who live and breathe these types of games.”
