EA’s terrific draft-day ad has me pumped for College Football 26 and Madden NFL 26

Are you ready for soccer? While America’s most popular sports never have an offseason, the biggest event on the offseason calendar, the NFL Draft, began on Thursday night, with Electronic Arts marking the opportunity with a draft-themed ad. EA Sports College Football 26 and Madden NFL 26In addition to checking each game’s release this summer.

EA’s two and a half minutes commercial “Call” – broadcast during draft coverage of ABC, ESPN and NFL networks – focuses on a fictional wide receiver named JD Matthews Jr. And we see emotions unfolding on the Texas Longhorns star’s face as Quinn tells the story of Chip-on-Shoarder from Matthews Jr.’s soccer career through high school and college.

This draft is a major intersection between college football and the NFL, and where the NCAA standout location is where you want to make your lifelong dream of becoming a professional athlete. For those lucky enough to make a life-changing call on draft day, it is the culmination of so many efforts, and of course a new beginning with all sorts of possibilities and pitfalls. “The work is just beginning,” Quinn reminds him of his new rookie wideout.

The EA pitch here is that soccer fans can experience the full range of this journey by playing both EA Sports College Football 26 and Madden NFL 26. On Thursday, the publisher announced this year’s iteration of the franchise, previously known as NCAA football. It will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on July 10th. Madden continues on August 14th.

That’s right: EA currently leaves behind the last generation console and makes 2024 Madden NFL 25 The final entries in the series will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Speaking of old consoles, Madden NFL 26The Switch 2 version of the game ends a nearly 13-year drought of Madden games on Nintendo’s platform. The last version was the scaling back version Madden NFL 13This was the title of the Wii U released in November 2012. EA has yet to release any actual information on the modes and features of this year’s Madden game. I asked the company if there was a feature between the Switch 2 version and the PC/PS5/Xbox series X version. Once I update this article, I will update it when I receive the response.

(While you can’t get the Switch 2 version from EA’s website, Amazon has pre-ordered for a “physical” copy of the game key card.) Just like last year, anyone who knows they want to play both titles can get it in a discounted package known as the MVP Bundle. This set is available digitally only on PS5 and Xbox Series X, and brings together deluxe editions of college and pro games for $149.99.
