Remember the themed popcorn bucket? Of course you do. Well, there’s more where they came from. Future Minecraft Movies are taking part in consumer trends with their own concessions available during theatre driving.
According to the image posted by DiscusingFilm on X/Twitter below, the Minecraft movie has a TNT box as a popcorn bucket paired with a chicken jockey drink container (you know, as you know). These items seem exclusive to the US Cinemark theatre chain, but we’ll have to wait and see that other theatres are set to debut for Minecraft fans.

These Minecraft-centric novelties are the latest in the ongoing trends that have become a national flagship since the rise of the Skywalker R2-D2 popcorn bucket in 2019. Six years ago, the pure virality of the snack receptacle was something that the theatre executives realized their potential and died at this point, but still very expensive, but a modern theatre tradition emerged. Hey, if that’s what people are coming out for the theatrical experience, I’m everything for it.
The Minecraft film is directed by Jared Hess and is written by Chris Bowman, Hubbel Palmer, Neil Widener, Gavin James, and Chris Galletta from the stories of Bowman, Palmer and Allison Schroeder. It follows a group of random people sucked into the world of Minecraft’s cubes. They have to put their trust in a local man named Steve (Jack Black) to help them master the world around them. Jason Momoa, Daniel Brooks, Emma Myers, Jennifer Coolidge, Sebastian Hansen Starr and Black. The film will arrive at the theater on April 4th, 2025.
