The remake makes sense considering the success of other Square Enix remakes like Final Fantasy 7.
Yesterday, the video game community was bustling with what appeared to have confirmed Square Enix was working on a Chrono Trigger remake.
If you’re excited by this news, I won’t blame you as Chrono Trigger is considered by many to be one of the best RPGs of all time.
The video confirms that the creator of Dragon Quest did not confirm anything
Yesterday, our report stated that Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii accidentally confirmed the remake during an event in Naples.
The video confirms that Horri didn’t actually say anything about the Chrono Trigger remake. Check out your footage in the video below.
Sadly, it puts an end to things. Of course, it’s possible that Sqiare Enix is working on a remake of the Chrono trigger, but it hasn’t announced it yet. Or will they see the reaction and act on it? You can wish.
Not only does Final Fantasy 7 Remakes work, but even the Dargon Quest III HD-2D remake sold well enough to exceed Square Enix’s expectations, so the Chrono Trigger remake makes sense.
For those new to Chrono triggers, the RPG was released in 1995 on SNES (Japanese Super Famicom), with the “Dream Team” of Sakaguchijima, horii and Tokairayama taking the lead. If you’re not old enough to remember, Sakaguchi was the creator of the Final Fantasy franchise and Holy was the creator of the Dragon Quest series. At the time, Enix was not yet owned by Square, so the two franchises were considered the two biggest RPGs in Japan. Akira Toriyama was the creator of the legendary Dragon Ball franchise and provided character designs for the game. This was very noticeable considering its features such as Toriyama’s Toyatsuki’s hair design.
Will you ever see Chrono Trigger remake? I certainly hope so, and let’s hope Square Enix will see the reactions from gamers and put this on the development track.
