Black Myth: Wukong, The Action RPG, inspired by the classic Chinese novel “Journey to the West,” will finally advance to the Xbox Series X/s on August 20, 2025, just a year after it was released on PS5 and PC.
Xbox shared the news on Twitter/X, saying, “You’re destined. Black Myth: Wukong will be coming on August 20th. Pre-orders will start on June 18th!”

Black Myth: Wukong was Megahit as it sold over 25 million copies as of January 31, 2025. However, the absence from the Xbox Series X/S was always worth noting as it was not fully charged as exclusive.
There were sources claiming that the delay was due to Sony’s exclusive contract, not a technology issue, but Black Myth Boss: Wucon Developer Game Science, Fen Zi, reportedly held the Xbox Series S. responsible.
“The only thing I lack is the Xbox,” he said, according to a machine learning translation, “I somehow feel a bit wrong, but without years of optimization experience, 10GB of shared memory is really hard to do the job.”
These issues have now been resolved and Xbox players will be able to add this game to their library soon.
In our Black Myth: Wucon review, “Despite some frustrating technical issues, Black Myth: Turmeric is a great action game with great combat, exciting bosses, appetizing secrets and a beautiful world.”
Black Myth: Wukong has more than reporting technical issues, as he reported in 2023 on the history of developer sexism.
