The Covid-19 pandemic coincidedly reflected the connectivity of death stranding.
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach hasn’t been released yet, but legendary game creator Kojima already has an idea about where the third game from where DS2 left off, and even other sequels can go.
Here it is: Kojima has confirmed that he will not develop it because he wants to tell someone else. With the game maker’s plates already full, I understand why he wants someone else to continue the franchise.
Death Stranding2’s Plate Gate Concept allows you to make “Infinite Sequels”
Talking to VGC, Kojma talked about the concept of “plate gates” and how death-making games can be played in various countries around the world to create an “endless sequel.”
Kojima said, “With this Plate Gate concept, you can make an endless sequel. Of course, there is no plan to do that, but there is already a concept for another sequel.
Kojima’s confirmation doesn’t want to work on the potential death supervision 3, but it’s understandable given that he is 61 years old and there are still multiple projects under development. The horror game “OD” is developed by him on Xbox. There are also spy games and feature films with Sony released under the codename Physint.
Kojima also spoke about how the Covid-19 pandemic affected the development of Death Director 2, which has the catchphrase “We shouldn’t have connected.”
Kojima said, “We released the death attacks before the Covid-19 pandemic. The world was heading towards isolation and division like Britain leaving the EU. So I was saying, “Let’s connect. If we don’t have connections, we’re heading towards disaster.” It was a real surprise to us after the release theme, storyline and just three months later.
“That’s the weirdest thing. After creating a game with the theme of “Connecting connections instead of division and isolation,” we had a pandemic.
Will you see Death Director 3 be developed by someone else in Kojima Productions? Perhaps if the two of deaths sell well, we would. Death Stranding 2 is scheduled to be released on June 26th, 2025 on PS5 alone, so we’ll know if that’s the case soon.
