With the official launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows looming above us as if he were sitting on the veil of Hay, Ubisoft has provided details on the performance modes available for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro Players.
That’s why there are more modes that can be provided to console players on current generation machines, especially with the recently released PlayStation 5 Pro.
The Base PlayStation 5 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows offers three modes:
- Fidelity mode: 4K upscale, 30fps with standard ray tracing
- Performance Mode: 4K upscale, 60fps with selective ray trace
- Balanced mode: 4K upscale, 40fps with standard ray trace
Players who want to use Balanced Mode should note that this mode is only available to players using TVs or monitors with 120/240Hz display and HDMI 2.1.
The PlayStation 5 Pro version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows also offers three modes:
- Fidelity mode: 4K upscale, 30fps with extended raytracing
- Performance Mode: 4K upscale, 60fps with standard ray tracing
- Balance mode: 4K upscale, 40fps, extended raytracing
The requirements for achieving balanced mode on the PlayStation 5 Pro are the same as the base model of the system. The player requires a 120/240Hz display to select.
Ubisoft makes it clear that the PS5 Pro is the only console with extended raytracing support
This means that the reflective surfaces of the raytraced will appear that way throughout the game world.
Most PS5 Pro players need to choose to play at 60fps in Performance mode and either play at standard ray tracing or 30fps in Fidelity mode using extended ray tracing.
The 120/240Hz TV or monitor, which also offers HDMI 2.1, is still relatively new and not as common at the time of writing.
Shy, because it offers both the best worlds at the same time.
No matter which mode player you choose, users who want to place the console at pace by PS5 users are the only assassin Creed Shadow that allows players to expand raytracing to explore, jump and assassinate the game’s world.
After multiple delays, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on March 20, 2025.
