Sometimes game developers get a little more fun. Well, most creators can do that – we covered Minecraft Movie’s Herobrine Easter Egg too long ago – but for now, what matters is the great little cat, and the developer who put it in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Meet Nik Pantis, production manager at Ubisoft. Blood, sweat, tears, to create the latest work in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, and who make people who love cats so much.
Meet the Ghost now. A very beloved cat.
Can a ghost live forever? fun. This fantastic cat won’t bother you right away, but sometimes appreciates visits.
Fans are responding at all as you expect – one user’s reply says, “This is my number one reason to play Shadows now.”
Specifically, the ghost is in the shadow of the Assassin’s beliefs as a fool cat – a unique, supernatural being that is obviously very difficult to find. The in-game cat, a literal ghost, is clearly very friendly and becomes “bonded for life” according to the in-game instructions.
Even among players, information about Ghost Cats is pretty scarce, but it’s a great discovery and real world history is cool for those who can find it.
Easter Egg Rabbit Hole of Assassin’s Creed
Easter eggs have been a long tradition of media, assassin beliefs and more. There were many in the aforementioned Minecraft films, and some in the mirage of the Assassin’s Creed.
The Ghost Cat is not even the only Easter egg in the shadow of the Assassin’s Creed. Players have already discovered the Easter eggs from Dark Souls.
I’ve been going for years without discovering some Easter eggs. One from Uncharted 4 in particular actually nodded to Assassin’s Creed and no one even found it to point it out.
Can we find more Easter eggs in the shadow of the Assassin’s Creed? Who knows more developers have slipped fun details for fans to reveal?
And since the shadows are still relatively new, you may have waited for anything and haven’t been discovered until the right players come in and share it with the world.
