Death Stranding 2 was released on PS5 June 26th and is potentially the last game by Kojima Productions.
It is common knowledge that Kojima Hido is developing a live-action death stranding film, and we are building death 2: coming soon on the beach, but there is another medium the franchise is exploring, and it is anime.
This was revealed by legendary game creator Kojima Hidojima when talking about the live-action adaptation of the game.
Kojima confirms the anime that builds the death of the work
In an interview with Vogue Japan, Kojima talked about adjusting video game adaptations to other media, using our last as an example of a property that remains true to the game’s storyline, and also as a way to also have fan service projects like the Super Mario Bros. movies.
Kojima (via VGC) said, “I am currently working on adapting the director of Death’s live action film with A24,” Kojima said (via machine translation). “When it comes to adapting the game to visual media, there are films like The Last of Us, which are true to the original storyline, and films like Super Mario Bros., which are more of a service for fans of the game.”
Kojima went on to mention how he wanted to create a version of death that can only be achieved in films. “Though these films have their own merit as film enthusiasts, I would like to pursue the expressive potential of films. I aim to create death ploys that can only be achieved through film. This will win awards at festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival. In fact, I am currently working on adapting anime.”
The details surrounding the live-action death stranding film are wrapped up, but the game’s main character, Norman Reeds, has already expressed his intention to appear in the film, saying he should do it if asked.
As for the game, Death Stranding 2 will be available on PS5 on June 26th, and should be Kojima Hido’s final death match. The creators of the game have the idea of a sequel, but given that Kojima is a horror game OD on Xbox, the physics of the spy game on PlayStation, the Death Strang live-action film and now anime, it’s more likely that others at Kojima Productions will tackle.
