Last month, we reported on how drug trafficking in Grand Theft Auto 6 is rumoured to be elevated to a new level. When this new rumour arrives, it’s not the only part of the game, even the way the radio station works.
Music is an integral part of a franchise. Especially because I spend a lot of time in the car. While driving around town or when escaping the law, players can adjust to different types of music courtesy of in-game radio stations.
New rumors suggest that for the GTA 6, musicians can connect directly with gamers.
GTA 6 is reportedly giving music art an unprecedented way to interact with players
This latest rumor comes from Grammy Award-winning producer Jermaine Dupri. He spoke about the Grand Theft Auto franchise at the new Rory & Mal Show. Dupri talks about the ability for artists to upload their music directly to the game.
Dupri says he was approached about Grand Theft Auto (he didn’t specify GTA 6, but you can guess the connection given that this is a feature that doesn’t exist in past GTA games). Dupri talks about it, even claiming that rapper Drake has his own radio station in the game.
“They said Drake got their own radio station at Grand Theft Auto. The way they prepare to do that is that Drake can actually upload music.
If so, Rockstar has found another way to connect music to the game in a way that has never been before. Although Fortnite frequently holds virtual concerts for real-life artists, the new approach of allowing artists to upload their music directly to the game or create their own stations is a game changer that introduces new music to the public. Heck, I can even see this as a major event not only for artists but also for rock stars.
Before anyone can spread this as the gospel, note that although plausible, this information comes from an informal source, and therefore must be taken with a single grain of salt. That said, I don’t think Dupri would make such a claim without the truth behind them. Perhaps Rocktar will unveil this feature someday this year?
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to be released on May 26, 2026. That release date may change, but it won’t ruin your game release plan as game publishers around the world want it not.
The big question right now is how much the GTA 6 costs. Since some console games are currently retailing for $80, it’s easy to assume that the GTA 6 will be a game priced at least $100.
