Dinosaur survival game Ark 2 has come across trouble or suspected it was abandoned, but it’s back after developer Studio WildCard revealed a new expansion to ARK.
Ark: Lost Colony is the first original expansion pack of the ARK 1 Remake Ark: Survival Ascend, whose apparent trailer is produced by anime studio Mappa (attack on Jujutsu Kaizen, Titan, and Chainsaw Man), and starring Michelle Yo, Michelle Yo will present her role as Mayyyin from the Ark series.
Studio Wildcard said the expansion will feature numerous film-grade animated story sequences created by Mappa. Here’s the official blurb:
In this new frozen world, players follow in the footsteps of legendary ark survivor May Ying, finding the answer to the long-standing secrets of the Ark’s past in a quest to search for souls deep in the cold heart of darkness.
ARK: Lost Colony presents thrilling new challenges when survivors are hunted in vastly occupied cities, providing access to powerful new kinds of character abilities, unique gear, architectural systems and incredible exotic tems.
Can survivors counter the demons hiding in Arat Prime and connect the Ark’s past and future?
Studio Wildcard said in a note to Press that Ark: Lost Colony would “directly connect” Ark’s extinction and Genesis storyline, leading to the Ark 2 event.
Ark 2 is a sequel with the hugely successful Unreal Engine 5 The survival of the Ark has evolved. It was first announced at the Game Awards 2020 at the 2022 release date, but was delayed in 2023. Ark 2 is delayed againThis time, we will be running exclusively on Xbox Series X and S consoles from the second half of 2024, on a PC via Steam and Windows.
Recently in December 2023, Studio Wildcard had claimed that Ark 2 was on track due to its release window in late 2024. Obviously it didn’t happen, sparking concern from fans. So, this announcement comes in 2025 in three months and will help reassure fans that the Ark 2 is still in the works, despite the fact that Studio WildCard failed to provide an updated release window.
However, there are details about ARK: Lost Colony. Pre-orders will begin in June 2025 and all purchases will immediately unlock exclusive ARK: Lost Colony Preview gameplay content. It is set for a full release in November 2025, with ARK: Lost Colony available for sale for $29.99 for Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
