Star Wars Outlaws received its first story extension today with the release of A Pirate’s Fortune DLC on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
According to Drew Rechner, creative director of Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment, the DLC was born out of the love of the team of Hondo Ohnaka, a Weequay Pirate who appeared previously on Darth Maul Comics and the Star Wars: The Clone Wars Animated TV Show.
“We’ve always known because we had so many passionate people on the team that we needed to feature Hondo. And all you know is that it’s mixed with Kay’s villain fantasy and Hondo’s pirate fantasy, so that makes a bit of sense, right?” Rechner told Passthecontroller.
“We also knew that Kay would learn what it means to be his own, become a leader, and learn to learn people like Hondo as leaders.
DLC adds new adventures to the main game featuring Rokana Raiders Crime Gang, the Miyuki Trade League, which allows Kay to offer upgrades to Trailblazer Ship, and a new blaster feature called Shock.
Star Wars Outlaws also won the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4th, but Rechner refused to spill any details on whether the new platform will bring new features to the game, but said there is more information going forward.
“As for a particular feature set, that’s what we’ll get in later. So there’s more to talk about later.”
Some of the Switch 2 features that games can take advantage of are the mouse and controllers that can be used as a new GameChat feature.
