While some gamers may have assumed that cross-play would be available at launch, developers today confirmed that it was not true and explained why.

“We know that many people want to compete with their friends regardless of platform. At the very least, players can expect it before July ends, based on what Sloclap said. Of course, online games like Rematch have many moving parts, so timing and other things cannot be changed.
In the same announcement, Sloclap revealed where the rematch server is. Not only that, developers have implemented server area locking for players. This allows players to “have more control over the quality of the connection and the gameplay experience.”
