Lies of P: Overture Review – A Link to the Past

tHe spoke last time p’s lie Eventually, it turns out to be a great game. Two years later, many updates later, our thinking about the base game has not changed much. In fact, expectations for the sequel are very high thanks to the fact that the ending gave us a great sequel hook. However, during that time, developer Neowiz released it Overture DLC doesn’t actually set new plot points as long as it tries to give us more context for the story we already got in the base game.

Before moving on any further, first talk to the proverb elephant in your room. Overture It is intended to be a late game DLC p’s lie. In fact, you won’t even be able to access it until you access Chapter 9 of the base game. This means that Overture It mainly revolves around a completely new cast of characters in completely different zones, both in place and time, so there may be accidental spoilers that pop up from time to time. In fact, even Neowiz recommends a full playthrough of at least one base game before earning a DLC.

This approach to DLC allows for Overture There are a few issues. The biggest one is the fact that you must be quite familiar with the overall plot of to get the best possible fun from the DLC. p’s lie. The DLC intended to be played in the final part of the base game means that if you’ve already kicked off a new game plus run, you’ll need to start over. Overture. However, you will soon get to that part.

“Thankfully, the length is short Overture Compared to the base game, it means that things will soon start to rise again soon. ”

Overture Being a late game DLC means that the pacing of the story will become strange again. In the base game, by the time you gain the ability to start a DLC, you are basically starting a climax act. p’s lie, start Overture At that point, the story stops and stops again, slowly introducing the new characters and settings. Thankfully, the length is short Overture Compared to the base game, it means that things will soon start to rise again soon.

So that it doesn’t get in the way Overture Generally speaking, it’s a fun addition p’s lie. Rather than looking forward to setting up more foundations for the sequel, DLC is interested in looking at the past of the game’s Krat main settings, giving you a better look at the city, astonishing the brink of collapse that fights along the way in the base game. Even when you first see one of the Crat Zoos, one of the main buildings of Crat before the destruction, it’s a fun moment early in the game.

Looking at Crat Zoo from a cliff vantage point, when you actually get to it, one of the few issues becomes clear Overture face. The first is the fact that there is definitely an element of checkpoint hunger, especially in the previous part of the DLC. On the base p’s lieThis doesn’t feel like a big problem as the game has a great level of design that often unlocks new shortcuts. However, these elements still exist Overtureit’s definitely scaled. In fact, the nearest checkpoint goes back to the top of the cliff, so we hope you don’t die in the early parts of the Crat Zoo.

P Overture Lie 2

“There’s definitely a checkpoint hunger element, especially in the previous parts of the DLC.”

Come to think of it, now is a good time to talk about balance and overall difficulty. With the release of Overture, p’s lie We also got an update that brought a pair of difficulty options that allowed people looking for challenges to keep the game at their original level of difficulty. This is great for base games, but the DLC feels like a completely different story. Some of the new normal enemies Overture With attacks that can break your health bar with a few hit issues, you definitely feel like they might be a little nervous.

Incidentally, this issue does not seem to affect the new boss battles, which complements very well what we fought in the base game. We don’t really get anything revolutionary, but boss fights are still very fun. For example, the zoo opposes giant crocodiles quite early on. There are also plenty of dolls to fight, including Markiona, one of the new antagonists to face in the battle of dual bosses. Generally speaking, bosses fighting in DLC feel much more balanced than standard rank and file enemies that they tend to face along the way.

For normal enemies, Overture It brings several new kinds of enemies to fight, including many ferocious animals. However, DLC also uses a lot of repeating enemies from the base game, like zombie dogs and humans.

P Overture Lie 3

“Overture That’s exactly what it is p’s lie It’s necessary in the first place – more than that p’s lie. ”

The most important things to be aware of Overture It’s not like it’s doing something revolutionary like the base game. Certainly, it is based on the style of combat and weapon crafting p’s lie Although introduced to us first, other than that, we don’t get an explanation of the epic plot that will affect future playthroughs of the base game. The story, although interesting, is almost self-contained, and ultimately doesn’t really affect the base game.

More than that, Overture That’s exactly what it is p’s lie It’s necessary in the first place – more than that p’s lie. That new location and boss battle is absolutely fantastic, and the only major issue in the entire DLC can be easily fixed with a balance update or two.

There’s something to say about developers who know exactly what made the game good, and that they decided to add something good to the game and make it bigger. P’s Lie: Overture It may not be the epic and epic DLC you might expect Elden Ring‘s Erdtree’s Shadow or Bloodborne‘s Old Hunter. However, at least going back to the ditch and stop dying to normal enemies early on is a really good way to spend the weekend.
