Some of the best LEGO sets ever created are now deprecated. You can find a way to buy online, but it is almost impossible to go below the original retail price. So if you’re face-to-face with a LEGO set that really creates joy, it’s best to pick it up before it’s gone forever.
That being said, there are a few rare cases where you can still find a set of MSRP below MSRP even after MSRP retires. One such case is this current discount on the Green Hill Zone Lego set available on Amazon. It’s not a very discount, but I’ve been out of five months since I left, so I still don’t expect this price to be much longer.
LEGO SONIC THE HEDGEHOG – Green Hill Zone Sale
The LEGO Idea Green Hill Zone Set originally appeared in January 2022, but LEGO retired from the set until January this year. Passthecontroller actually had the opportunity to build in 2022, when it first appeared three years ago, and I loved the build. This is a fun homage to the series’ iconic video game levels and one of our favorite Sonic The Hedgehog Lego sets, perfect for fans of the franchise.
As far as I know, Amazon currently has the lowest possible price for this set. eBay has several different options for used versions for almost half the price, but if you take that route you run the risk of missing. Considering that it’s still discounted, Amazon may have a significant stock in this set, but you can expect prices to rise quite quickly as soon as it starts to decline. LEGO no longer sells this set, so once it’s gone, you can only purchase it with markup unless you’re lucky.
Recently, I’ve resigned LEGO sets available on Amazon
Once LEGO officially retires from the set, they tend to hang out with other retailers a little longer. This makes Amazon one of the best places to buy LEGO, thanks to the expanded inventory of these products. There are a lot of other recently retired sets that are still available to buy now. Below we’ve covered some of the most popular ones.
