The next batch of free games in the epic game store is now available for Grabbing. There’s something for those who want to break and crush the zombie apocalypse.
Next Epic Games Store offers free Dead Island 2 and Happy Games. If you want to have them on your PC, You need to grab them until May 22nd.
It should be noted that this is the standard version of Dead Island 2, which has been made free, and only includes the base game, not the expansion pack. However, if you want to get downloadable content for the game, You can upgrade your game to the deluxe version of the Epic Games store.
A game that travels through multiple game studios and console generations
Dead Island 2 was originally announced at E3 2014 by Deep Silver and Yager Development. Their vision was to bring Techland’s first person zombie apocalypse game into a fictional world based in California.
This original version is set to be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2015. Things didn’t pan out properly, so the development of Dead Island 2 was passed to SUMO Digital for some time.
It was then announced in 2019 that Deep Silver’s internal studio, Dambuster Studios, had put the project into his own hands. In April 2023, the game was finally released for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S.
It’s still a wonder how Dead Island 2 survived such a long development journey, and after passing through multiple studios and console generations it became a relatively decent game that fans enjoy.
