Destruction has been a battlefield feature for many years, and in the next battlefield match, the dice appears to be adding to the chaos that produces tiled rubs.
The developer recently dropped an update to the video and Battlefield lab community to spotlight what’s in place for the next entry in the Battlefield series. In pre-Alpha footage, you can see some of the destruction designed by the dice. Explosives lower the sides of the building and open up new paths through the structure.

Destruction could lead to creative solutions for players, and in community updates, Dice said he is working to add more depth of gameplay by allowing players to rebuild their surroundings. Whether you’re going to lower the wall to start an ambush or open a new path towards a critical point, sometimes troublesome buildings can be kept out of the way.
“We design destruction around easily identifiable visual and audio languages so that we can understand what can be destroyed, altered or converted via gameplay,” says Dice. “We aim to be an integral part of the battlefield experience in order to create an intuitive, fun, and rewarding environment that feels empowered to shape the world around you.”
Various influences affect wall-like structures. The explosions clearly work, but they also scrape off bullets so the player can shoot them. The audio VFX queue lets players know that their efforts are working.
The aftermath of all this destruction leaves a concrete effect on the battlefield. For example, tile bles created by destroying parts of a building can remain in the field and can be used as covers. The next battlefield certainly seems to be destroyed in our hearts.
The next battlefield game, “Battlefield 6,” is slowly taking shape, colloquially. There have been some gameplay leaks that have received positive responses from Battlefield fans, but they haven’t been officially confirmed. It is heading towards the modern environment of the series, and is expected to arrive in the electronic arts fiscal year between 2026 or April 2025 and March 2026. Of course, things can change when a competitor who controls a particular large industry locks the date.
With so much effort behind this next entry, it appears that this new battlefield is pulling out all the stops. Getting all levels of destruction right certainly feels like a step in the right direction.
