in Blue Princeit can be difficult to understand what is attracting attention and what is not. Here are some useful tips to help you guide your note taking methodology.
- Related information may change. What you need to pay attention to in the room may vary depending on the particular puzzle you are trying to solve. Because of this, you don’t need to capture every detail of every room, but you can rather visit and revisit. Get everything you need first and don’t sweat!
- Take notes and you can ask yourself. What sticks out from me right now in this room? Look around and then write down some notes.
- If you can’t immediately identify what’s useful, you can start from scratch Write down all the numbers, names, towns and events you encounter. If a person is tied to a particular event or role, be aware of that information as well.
- Every time I hit a block of sorts, like a machine I don’t know how to use or a strange room that I don’t seem to use, Write it down. It also helps to write down every time you see something you haven’t seen yet or see something in the house that will confuse you.
How to take notes on Blue Prince
For some people, writing something down can help them remember the information more easily than they type it in. If you’re this kind of person and don’t mind writing when you play, here are some of our favorite tips to take notes Blue Prince.

To get started, consider using a dedicated notebook for this game. As you play, adding more to your notes can grow beyond just a few pages. You can use the old notebook lying on it, but the polygon’s own Susanapolo advises using dotted notebooks. This is because you can use grid structures to draw diagrams in addition to taking regular notes.
This is definitely not a must, but I used a multicolored pen that allows you to switch between black, blue and red inks. We highlighted blue name, date and story information, marked with marked puzzle information and red room information. This made it easier to find certain types of information. (I liked this approach too. Blue Prince. )
Once you settle down with a notebook and pen, there are plenty of options on how to organize your notes. However, there was a general trend among commenters. Organize your notes in your room and leave plenty of space for each time you start a new section of your room. Some of the people we spoke to have assigned an entire page for each room, but not every room needs that much space.
Create one section per room. From there, we recommend considering creating additional sections for learned characters, specific puzzles, and tools, and making sure you have a little space for general observations and ongoing questions.
If this sounds good, there is one way to handle it. You can split the work! Charles Hart told passthecontroller that he and his partner played together. Charles played when his partner took notes. Their notebook has a color-coded section in each room that two have discovered so far, and includes a few pages in the front for other clues.

You may not be able to get enough tactile satisfaction to write down something, but there are many benefits to using digital notes while playing. Blue Prince. Notebooks can be organized and reorganized, and there is no need to assign notebook pages for unknown amounts of information. You can also search for documents using ctrl+f, including screenshots.
I’ve heard from players who used all the note-taking software in the sun, like the notes app on iOS, Freeform, Obsidian, Spreadsheets, and even Google Slides.
The perk of playing on your computer is that you can write notes and include screenshots as you proceed. If you’re playing on a Windows PC or Steam Deck, it’s as good as finally using the Steam built-in notes app. Our own Cameron Faulkner has guaranteed its functionality in the past, and at least one person said they’re beating us Blue Prince I’ll use it.
Others, like Bluesky user Seristy Bichon, played the game using two monitors. One monitor showed the game and the other displayed OneNote. This was used to create a large number of tables to track the information needed. (Similarly, Bluesky’s CJ M used OneNote, organizing everything alphabetically with rooms and additional screenshots, tables and notes.)
Some people used programs such as Freeform, Miro, and Concepts to organize the information and lend a corkboard-like vibe to notes. I was particularly impressed with the way Liz England uses Milo to organize screenshots and notes. England told passthecontroller that she organized them with text and screenshots combined with colors. You can see her board below, but I know there are slow spoilers for the game.
You can also create a grand old digital Pepe Silvia-style notebook board or store your documents if you don’t want to use flashy tables. passthecontroller’s own Ryan Gilliam was using Google Docs. Bluesky user Jambatt explained a simple and streamlined approach to organizing Google Docs for Notes. Jambatt created 46 lines for the room before starting the game, adding notes and screenshots while playing. Additionally, I created a heading for each character name and filled it out when I discovered more information.

Screenshots can be great (especially if you’re playing on a PC), but they’re not always ideal for console users. The few people I spoke to were people who took digital notes who chose to take pictures of the game rather than screenshots. My colleague Matthew Reynolds said he took photos of the game instead of screenshots as it was the easiest way to import images while playing the game on several platforms.
After all, it’s about what’s useful for you and what aligns with the experience you want in the game. Any note can act as a “good” note. You don’t have to always organize everything completely. So play around with the method until you find the one that suits you.
