ILM and Lucasfilm today revealed the gameplay of their upcoming quest 3 games, Star Wars: Beyond Victory – Combined Reality Playset, It offers both virtual and mixed reality gameplay.
In a partnership with Meta, the studio offered participants the first practice in the game at Star Wars Celebration 2025, which took place in Japan from April 18th to 20th. On top of that, a good gameplay slate revealed the first teaser.
Still under development, the studio says Star Wars: Beyond Victory It will be held around the time Solo: Star Wars Story (2018)To reveal the game further, when three different modes launch on Quest 3 and 3s, it comes with three different modes.
This includes a VR/MR combined story mode following the Podracer “Volo”, an arcade mode that brings mini-pod races to mixed reality holotation, and a “playset” that adorns your physical environment with a collection of unlockable virtual action figures and vehicles.
“This is more than just a game, so we call it a playset. It’s a whole new way to experience the world we created with Star Wars Galaxy and ILM,” said Alyssa Finley, executive producer of the game. “This new mixed reality experience blends the physical and digital world in a way that is different from what we’ve done before, and we’re really looking forward to sharing our special first look with the incredible Star Wars community.”
If you are heading to an event at McHari Messe in Tokyo starting this Friday, you will have a practical opportunity Star Wars: Beyond Victory Booth #20-5 in Hall 4, ILM and Metaquest booths. The demo station also includes the studio’s previous XR titles Vader Immortal and Star Wars: A Tale from the Galaxy.
There is no release date yet, but as with everything in VR created by ILM for the Star Wars universe, we expect slower information to reach its release, so stay tuned.
