Birds are not the easiest class to get started, especially. You need to manage spells and spell slots, but they are not the strongest fighters. However, the bard is great if you want to bend non-combat muscles Gate 3 of Baldur.

Gate 3 of Baldur While races don’t really have a direct impact on the class, certain races and sub-races have features that work well in certain classes, such as extra movements and proficiency in certain weapons. For Birds, it’s best to focus on padding your spell list.
- High Elf and Half Elve Get Firebolt Cantrip
- All three Tiefling Sublace gets cantrip – It creates flames, The magician’s handand Thauturgry each
- Both sub-races Drau Get Dance Light Cantrip
When you create and level up your bard, charisma (because you are attractive) follows your most important stats followed by dexterity (because you are damaging). Make your charisma your best stats and dexterity your second highest.
At level 3, choose a subclass of the bard. Valor University is a way to go. Get extra attacks with each turn, gaining more weapons and medium armor proficiency, and Bardi’s inspiration is even more useful to allies. This allows you to play Bird as a little less supportive character and as any fighter.
For each of the four levels, you will be presented with the option to increase your stats or choose a feat. A feat is a special talent that adds features to your character. If you start to take feats with your statistics, Birds can benefit from:
- actor. Your charisma increases to up to 20. Your proficiency bonus will also be doubled for deception and performance checks.
- Crossbow Experts (When fighting a crossbow). If you perform a crowbo attack within melee, there is no disadvantage in attack rolls. Your piercing shot will also cause major injuries for twice the length.
- Defensive Duelist. When attacked while swinging skilled finesse weapons, you can use your response to add a proficiency bonus to your Armor class, which may lead you to miss an attack.
- Performers. Gain proficiency in the instrument and increase your charisma to a maximum of 20.
- Sharp Shooter. There are no penalties from highlands for your ranged weapon attacks. Weapon attacks using skilled weapons will have a -5 penalty on attack rolls, but deal 10 more damage.
