Helldivers 2 has been having performance issues on PCs recently, but developer Arrowhead knows the problem well.
Helldivers 2 is still in the middle of the Meridian singularity plot, but some of the updates released by Arrowhead had a disastrous effect on the performance of the game on PC.
However, Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani took him to the game’s Discord server to address player concerns and ensured that the fix was ongoing (reported in VG247).
While I’m here: About performance. We are now 100% aware of performance. We are closely tracking, and a lot of things are moving. We’ll share details about what we’ll do in the not too distant future.
Various problems
Helldivers 2 performance issues have been stuck for a while, with fans venting frustration on the game’s Subreddit.
One long post lists some of the known issues that have not yet been resolved, such as demolition, items returned to spawn points after being dropped, audio balance issues, vision maintenance systems for certain enemies, and clipping terrain.
The result of all these issues was that certain PCs, especially older rigs, the game was virtually unplayable, and players noticed that the arrowhead support, which is usually known for its quick response to bug reports, was not responding. However, we hope that with this approval from the CEO, players will need to see some fixes soon.
That being said, Arrowhead had no top track record of bug fixes. Their patches tend to introduce new issues of their own.
Jorjani also acknowledges this achievement of being added to Discord Server, saying, “The more content you add and the more performance you get, the more you need to do a little housekeeping.
Speaking of content that has little impact, he teased that some of last year’s Killzone Crossover Content has returned to Superstore.
Arrowhead has its own way of getting over a significant portion of the controversy with Helldivers 2 and staying motivated.
Hopefully they can deal with these issues quickly and make it work for everyone again. Until then, players will likely be able to enjoy at least some bugs.
