In Season 2, two new characters will be added to the game. The class types for Emma Frost, Vanguard and Ultron have not yet been revealed. There is also a new Krakoa map. Like Season 1, Season 2 is split into two halves. Emma Frost and Krakoa maps will be appearing in mid-season patches and Ultron will be released.

Marvel Rival Season 2 Release Time on PC, PS5 and Xbox
The first half of Marvel Rival Season 2 will be released on Friday, April 11th at 4am EDT. This is when you are in your timezone:
Season 2 release will be global via PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X. NeteaseGames has yet to reveal the official date for the second half of Season 2, but is expected to last around six weeks until late May or early June 2025.
What to expect from Marvel Rivals Season 2
The big features of the first half of Season 2 are Emma Frosta new Vanguard character. She can use her mental powers and diamond skin to project shields, mitigate damage, mitigate chokeslam enemies, and force enemies to walk towards her against their will.
There are some new ones too Hellfire Gala MapIt will take place on Krakoa Island and add a new regional type to the game. When the Hellfire Gala is added, Netease Games rotates some old maps from the competitive playlist. All maps will be playable in-game, not on ranked grinds.
Speaking of ranks, the second season comes with a separate reset for players, and also shows the introduction of the pick/banned phase for gold ranked players.
Netease Games also implements a balance path for low-performing heroes from season 1. This is in conjunction with the evolution of the team-up system. Some characters lose team-up ability in favor of new characters.
