Switch 2 Zelda upgrades have achievements, weird GPS voice assistant

The new service within the Switch app is called Zelda Notes. According to the overview trailer, it only works on the Switch 2 version and is “designed to provide a more streamlined gameplay experience.”

This app has medals like achievements that you can earn to do long distance travel, enemy defeat, rupee collection, other metrics and more. Medals are tracked globally, allowing you to see what other players have won compared to you on the app.

What I can say is that adding achievements to only two Switch 2 games that exist only in the services within the app is a very Nintendo move. We can guess whether this means that Nintendo is finally preparing to make its own version of its own performance in 2025, but we all know that this is a strange one-off thing that will likely never be seen again.

Another major feature of Zelda Notes is voice navigation. This looks like a GPS assistant and tells you where to find places like Koroks, Skyview Towers, Shrines and more. In a short demo, the player selects the map icon on the phone, and the voice calls directions to the corock hidden under the rock The tears of the kingdom.

For me, it’s a strange feature to include in two open world games about the joy of exploring and discovering things. There’s no shame in using the guide when you’re confused, but if you’ve been told where these games should go, then I don’t think these games are that fun. It makes more sense to use it to find something in a pinch or to clean up what you missed. Honestly, I have a hard time thinking about who Nintendo thinks this is the purpose.

One thing you can find using the navigation assistant is a bunch of new voice memories from Zelda, King Raul and Master Koga. These short audio diaries are scattered all over the world, where you can hear the characters’ thoughts on places and moments in Hyrule’s history. Beyond all the Zelda Lores there is a new reason to launch old saved files.

You can also share your blueprints using the app The tears of the kingdom Build – Features that were good 2 years ago – Get rewards for gift items for other players, editing screenshots, roll for small daily in-game bonuses and scan Amiibo.

The Zelda Notes service will be released within the Nintendo Switch app on June 5th. Wild Breath and The tears of the kingdom.
