When you’re about to buy an iPhone, you probably noticed that there are like hundreds of millions of them out there. Apple released Pro models for iPhone 16 and 16 in 2024, and more recently the 16E, further increasing the list of options. This makes it not easy to choose your own new phone unless you need the latest and greatest one. It’s worth considering all the options, even if it’s you.
No matter which iPhone you choose, each one supports iOS 18, announced at WWDC 2024. This brings a ton of AI features to every iPhone on this list, and a whole new photo app is organized. However, if you want to use Apple Intelligence, let’s take a look at the iPhone 15 and later.

1. iPhone 16 Pro
Overall overall iPhone
screen
6.3 inch OLED, 1206×2622, 460 PPI, 120Hz refresh rate
camera
48 megapixel width, 48 megapixel ultra awid, 12 megapixel telephoto, 12 megapixel selfie
There are several fine tweaks available in the camera settings
The iPhone 16 Pro gets the key props to bridge the gap between the base iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Its more compact form factor makes it easier to manage than the giant Pro Max for most users using it with one hand, but unlike previous iterations, where smaller Pro models have different cameras, you won’t miss out on features or camera sensors. Of course, if you want a larger screen, you can simply upgrade iPhone 16 Pro Max Otherwise, we rely on getting a similar experience.
The iPhone 16 Pro is all up-to-date from Apple, including the A18 Pro chip, which is extremely powerful for everyday operations and gaming. On the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the chip had one of the fastest Geekbench 6 single-core scores measured on a mobile phone (and on a laptop). This will also pair with a tear-inducing GPU. Play the latest games, this chip can quickly pump up high frame rates at maximum settings.
The Apple build feels great and luxurious, but it doesn’t have the most vibrant colors. The screen is gorgeous, offering both a combination of high brightness and contrast, as well as a higher refresh rate of more liquid motion. Apple exaggerates the durability of its new phone ceramic shield glass, but it turns out it can still be easily scraped off.
The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max cameras are powerful. The main sensor is absolutely excellent, showing its strength in the low light scenarios where smartphone cameras usually struggle with. Ultra managed to narrow it down to the shots, but in my test I struggled a bit with the softness and noise. There is also a useful 5x telephoto sensor that makes all the difference when you are trying to capture a portrait with natural bokeh, or when you need to get closer to a subject that you can’t physically approach. The new camera controls also provide a way to navigate settings and take photos with more shutter button-like controls, but I think Apple has more work to perfect it with future updates and hardware iterations.
2. iPhone 16
The best mid-range iPhone
screen
6.3 inch OLED, 1206×2622, 460 PPI, 120Hz refresh rate
camera
48 megapixel width, 48 megapixel ultra awid, 12 megapixel telephoto, 12 megapixel selfie
Ultra Wide and Selfie Shots can be soft
The iPhone 16 is a nice midrange option that’s appropriately in the iPhone lineup. The introduction of Apple Intelligence required more from within. In other words, Apple has not been able to leave its base iPhone in the old SOC in the past, just like in the past several years. As a result, the iPhone 16 will be an A18 chip. It performs just as seriously as the A18 Pro chip, the professional sibling of the mobile phone. The A18 was behind the A18 Pro with a very small margin, but otherwise it easily blown up the Geekbench 6 CPU performance seen on every phone I saw on every phone running the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset on my Android device. The single core remains enough to mess up what I saw from the new Snapdragon 8 Elite.
With all its performance, the iPhone 16 can easily lift everyday use and easily play tough games like laid back waves. Even after a long play session, the phone is comfortable to hold.
This model has more colorful options for hardware. You can also choose a clean black or white design if you like. The iPhone 16 also gets a ceramic shield as protection, but we recommend additional protection for your phone. The iPhone 16 size is fantastic in the pockets and hands, and is smaller in width, making it much more weekend than the Wide Pro Max model.
While you miss the extra smoothness of the 120Hz refresh rate on the Pro model, the iPhone 16 still gets a great display. It offers a gorgeous OLED panel that is sharp enough for a 6.1-inch screen. The pair is more fun with punchy speakers who watch shows and movies on the phone.
The iPhone 16’s main camera snaps nice photos, captures vibrant colors, and draws in enough light to do it in dimly lit environments. Ultra Wide and Selfie Camera aren’t bad, but they suffer from some degree of softness, as we’ve encountered in pros. This is hoping Apple will be bailed out with an update.
3. iPhone 16e

Trim some common iPhone features
If you’re looking for an iPhone on a budget, Apple doesn’t make the selection process much easier. in Introducing the iPhone 16EApple’s products are even further away from their affordable prices than before. The previous iPhone SE may not have been a very good phone, but it had a more attractive starting price of at least $429. The new iPhone 16E is now available with Apple’s lowest priced iPhone, but starts at $599. While it’s going to be in fact Budget iPhone, this recommendation comes with some caveats.
The iPhone 16E offers the latest mobile phone running on the powerful chip of the A18. This is the same chip that the iPhone 16 has, despite its fewer GPU cores. This means you get a fast phone and access to Apple Intelligence features. The iPhone 16E was thankfully updated from the previous iPhone SE design, which was already very dated when it was released in 2022. Its updated design also brings an aluminum frame and durable ceramic shield glass on each side. Apple has also increased its base storage to a more comfortable 128GB.
But Apple took a lot. Since the introduction of the iPhone 12, all non-SE models from Apple have several sharing features. They all provided Magsafe for magnetically connected accessories and wireless charging. They all supported MMWave 5g. They all had UWB support, allowing for accurate location tracking on devices such as Apple Airtag and other accessories. And they all included at least two cameras on the back. The iPhone 16e omits all of this. It removes many features and limits its camera functionality. It may not be enough to make it a bad call, but it’s all worth measuring.
Now I don’t argue that you’re just going to fire for a $799 iPhone 16 instead. If you need a simple phone and want to be a new iPhone, you can proceed with the iPhone 16e. But if you don’t love many things that it omits, if it’s not sold with Apple Intelgence’s AI features, it’s worth considering there’s a world of renovated devices out there that offers serious discounts. Amazon has renovated its iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 units for good conditions, for example, under $500. For my money, I will receive a renovated iPhone 14 Pro deal via iPhone 16e.

Software is supported a little shorter than rivals
The iPhone is loved for its easy-to-use software, solid cameras and excellent performance. However, if you are not committed to the operating system, or if you don’t want to lock some of the features at the top layer of your Apple phone and pay premiums, OnePlus 13 It offers exciting options. The OnePlus 13 comes in at $899, but rather than competing with the iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Plus at this price, it’s a rival to the $1,199 iPhone 16 Pro Max. If Apple’s topline phones bring bigger displays, smoother refresh rates, more cameras, and upgraded processing to the table, the OnePlus 13 will be delivered as well.
It boasts a triple camera setup on the back with a 50mp telephoto sensor. This helps punch in far away subjects. This is backed up by a 50mp main sensor and a 50mp ultra-width sensor. Combined, these take great photos and videos, and the selfie camera on the front is knocked out.
The display is worthy of an iPhone. It extends from corner to corner to corner to 6.82 inches, has a resolution of 3168×1440, and is shy on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. It also boasts a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. Additionally, it can be dropped all the way down to 1Hz to save power when viewing static content. On top of that, it’s a great OLED panel with very bright peaks and a totally black man.
Performance has been an area where even the best Android phones couldn’t touch Apple for a long time, but the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 began rocking it with the Android flagship in 2024, with the OnePlus 13’s Snapdragon 8 Elite moving the needle even further. The OnePlus 13 nearly caught the iPhone 16 Pro Max with single-core performance, beating it with multi-core performance, and swept it with 3DMarks graphics tests. He is also a champion in the game. And with a 6,000mah battery, it’s now heavy for all day long. If the battery is low, don’t worry about 80W wired or 50W wireless charging to juice up.
Did you say the phone is elegant too? Get a stylish design with either a silver and white colorway, a bold blue silver frame and vegan leather lining, or a black out color scheme of back glass etched to show a pattern of wood grain grain. The phone also includes an alert slider that resembles the ring/silent switch on an older iPhone. And while the iPhone 16 lineup has impressive water intrusion protection, the OnePlus 13 protects IP68 protection to the submersion. and IP69 provides protection that keeps the interior safe even against high-temperature, high-pressure water jets.
There’s so much to do with the OnePlus 13. If you’re not dead on your iPhone, it’s definitely worth considering.
Future iPhone
Several new iPhone additions have been seen using the iPhone 16S in 2024, offering some major improvements and serious performance. Apple also reduced the prices of previous models in a meaningful way. That said, Apple recently introduced the inexpensive iPhone 16E, which aims to replace the iPhone SE budget model. Additionally, leaked images and information about future iPhones have appeared on the Internet. This appears to be a lineup of iPhone 17s, including iPhone Air.
What to look for on your Apple iPhone?
There are many different models, but the user experience is essentially the same. It’s one of the biggest draws on the Apple iPhone, and why Most Popular Smartphones In the world. However, differences between models make it difficult to find the best model. Here are some points to note about the 2025 Apple iPhone:
Phone size
When it comes to iPhones, size is important. If you want to be able to use it with just one hand, it’s important to find the best size. For bigger hands, the Apple iPhone 16 Plus or Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max is the perfect fit thanks to a larger display and wider build. But if you’re on the small side, then the Apple iPhone 16 or iPhone 14.
Storage capacity
Furthermore, storage size should be considered. If you want to take lots of high resolution photos, the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max with 1TB of storage is the best option. Other models listed here come with a 128GB base. This should be done if you don’t want to use many apps and use them very casually.
price
If price is considered, the Apple iPhone ranges from the newest cheapest iPhone, the iPhone 16e, and the totally largest iPhone 16 Pro Max (1TB) is $1,599. Best of all, even using the cheapest models, includes the Apple iOS operating system. This will receive a renewal of 5 to 6 years after purchase. So, no matter what your budget, each model gets roughly the same software experience and support.
Overall, the most important thing to look for when buying an iPhone is how to use it. For most people, the Apple iPhone 16 Pro is the best pick. This is because it’s the most balanced with a high-speed processor, a great camera system, timeless colors and a wide range of storage options.
