Fortnite OG Season 3 will be on sale today with the arrival of assets from the Walking Dead, including Negan’s infamous baseball bat.
Chapter 1 Season 3 shows Lucky Landing Poi’s return and the meteors on “Seriously Anxious Collision Course!” The epic game said. Also, from OG day, the 50V50 LTM will return as the OG 50V50.
The OG 50V50 will be running until 9am on April 14th, with two 50-player teams facing each other. Fortnite veterans remember that the 50V50 was the first LTM added to the Fortnite Battle Royale in 2017.
The meteor appears in the sky late in the first chapter of season 3 and gets closer as the season progresses. This is also fondly reminiscent of Fortnite players who were there to watch Battle Royale return and kick off that day.
Meanwhile, starting today, March 25th, anyone can create The Walking Dead Universe Islands for Fortnite using Fortnite (UEFN) and the Unreal Editor of Fortnite.
Creators can start a new project using one of the new The Walking Dead Universe templates, allowing access to unique Walking Dead theme weapons, prefabs, gallery and Walker NPCs. Then, on May 16th, developers could publish The Walking Dead Universe Islands via the creator portal, making it possible for people to play.
“The Walking Dead is a great addition to the world,” said Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead. “This collaboration with Fortnite is an incredible opportunity to expand The Walking Dead in ways we never imagined. Whether Lucille is breaking Hordes or a creepy presence in the Walkers, we can’t wait to see where the creativity of the Fortnite community is taken.”
Here is a breakdown of some of the Walking Dead tools available to Fortnite creators today.
- Walker NPC – Slowly, non-intelligent, enemy enemies, pedestrians are motivated by the main drives to consume humans.
- Weapons and items – Shiva Shotgun Ranged Weapon, reap exotic modified pump shotgun (also causing Shiva Tiger Roar). Use Lucille melee weapon, the iconic heavy-hit baseball bat wrapped in wires equipped by the infamous Negan (and is perfect for bashing on both pedestrians and survivors).
- effect – Create with the post-process effect of new heavy line work. This is a shader that influences the overall look and feel of the island, bringing the tone and visual style of the Walking Dead comic.
