You might think that Triple-A games can use endless resources to create truly challenging experiences, but that’s not usually true. Indie games usually have to be the ones who work on creating hard games.
Some games are just hard to play in nature, but even more games are extremely difficult to play, especially if you’re trying to achieve everything the game has to offer.
I’ve come across a game that’s pretty manageable on the surface, but I run into a game like hell to get it all done. I will focus on titles that create truly challenging challenges from accessible mechanisms.
Furthermore, the unfair difficulty that generally requires irrational tasks should be quite lacking in this list, as this list is not particularly skill challenges, but rather the challenge of how good it is to read the Wiki.
So let’s take a look at the 10 most challenging indie in order to play by 100% completion.
10 Outer Wiles: Eye echo
Awful fate
The Outer Wiles is my favorite game, but it was a very difficult time to get all the results. Those are all things you thought you couldn’t do in your first playthrough.
Some story spoilers for the Outer Wild below.
So, when it comes to basic game achievements, landing in the sun or getting into the heart of the Giants’ Deep is a huge ass pain, especially if you don’t use a guide. DLC gets even worse.
Certainly, many of these achievements are easy to manage, but there are things like jumping off one of the owls before killing you.
But the most difficult thing is to try and easily ride a wave of strangers for a while. Superecision positioning using physical-based objects is required actually It allows for a lot of accuracy, and all requires dozens of attempts that take more than 10 minutes.
9 Rain risk 2
Avalanche of achievements
Rain Risk 2 is Roguelike, which allows you to get hundreds of hours of content, and the main reason for this is unlockable, where everything has pretty specific achievements associated with them.
Those 100 are pretty manageable achievements, but you can run forever and only run, while the remaining 20 is already extremely difficult in hard games (when you’re not playing in baby mode).
Killing Mithrix with a supply beacon requires great timing, positioning and wasting of one of your best resources, and killing Imp Overlord with a Preon accumulator.
But the worst criminal for me is ether, which demands you to beat the trial of the Prism as a mercantilator without being attacked. This wouldn’t be too bad unless the Prism Trial was in a randomized daily run mode.
8 Baratoro
Deceive your sleeves
Balatro is a card game that everyone is crazy about, and this game is one of the most ferocious achievements and unlock sets, and there is a lot of hell for time.
Some rarer trophies are earned simply by planning to run to achieve achievements, such as playing Flash with five wildcards, but the three completeist achievements are pure evil.
For these, you will need to discover all the Jokers, Spectrum Cards and more in the game. I did it I’ll take it forever. But winning on all decks with gold stake difficulty is very challenging and that absolutely It will take forever.
What’s worse, the ultimate completer’s achievement means getting a gold sticker on every joker. That means running alongside all the Jokers in the game in Gold Stakes to win. It sucks considering you can barely win a gold stake run on the spectral deck.
7 Celeste
500m dash
Celeste is already a rather strict precision platformer, and going through the eight main levels won’t kill you, but in addition to the B and C aspects, Chapter 9, and all the challenges it brings, will stretch you out pretty thin.
Complete all the B and C aspects, and even collect all the strawberries and complete Chapter 9 is where you expect a 100% journey to end, which is difficult enough. But there is more After that I will try.
To get a 1-up, you need to carry 10 strawberries. This means you can barely land on the ground without getting messed up and rebooting, and you’ll need a ton of platforms in Chapter 9 to get WOW.
That said, one of the last things you need to get is not even an achievement. Because it is so cruel. Golden strawberries can be found at the start of any level and you need to play everything without dying. It’s pure evil.
6 Hollow Knight
Witness
Hollow Knight is a hand-drawn Metroidvania with Dark Souls-inspired combat, leading to the extremely difficult battle segments that motivate me from completing the entire game completely.
While participating in the base game, when you reach Godhome content, you will buff buff all the bosses in the game, making these giant boss gauntlets that become gradually more difficult.
These Pantheon challenges come to mind in Pantheon 5. There you will need to fight all the bosses in the game at once. Once you die, you’ll be back soon. What’s worse, because an absolute battle of sparkle will destroy you from the ripples.
After that, the results are really evil, needing 100% 100% of the game in 5 hours, ending the game in perma dating mode, slaps the face more, and closure the game with 100% perma death. I can’t wait for Silkson to get even more difficult.
5 Terraria
Bricks by bricks
Hey, do you like Terraria? cool. Now let’s fish a solid fish for platinum, I’m sure it will be a great time. I love this game dies and it’s one of my most prestigious platinums, but man, it was smoking to get.
Some accomplishments require a considerable amount of crushing and waiting, that is, something based on random events such as the Blood Moon and Slime Pet, but some go further and it takes forever.
If you get a mobile phone, ankh shield, and Zenith, you can’t combine dozens of different things until you kill the enemy, kill the enemy, and do it, if you can’t combine it, then it’s the whole process.
But the most difficult of them is that they aren’t yet included in the game, but they’ve already been confirmed to come out this year. That’s the result of getting 100% veterinarian perfection and if you’ve ever tried to get a nymph banner, you know why it’s difficult.
4 Isaac’s Restraint: Regeneration
God’s devotion
Roguelikes had a thwarted suppression on picks from this genre, but could not include a whopping 640 results from Isaac: Rebirth.
There is one achievement to get all items, and all of these achievements are linked to defeating all bosses on every character or donating your life savings as a true gambler should.
Of course, there are always scary RNG elements and you can try your best to route many of these achievements, but tons of them can be rebooted over and over and over to get 5 damn things! Pills.
Even if you are the luckyest person on the planet, you still lock in to hit 5 daily challenges. That’s something I can only recommend to people who spend a few thousand hours in their hands.
3 Stardew Valley
Hell of Paradise
You’d probably think one of the most cozy little farming games of all time is an easy runaway run, but it tells you that you’ve never gone into Stardew Valley deep to know that the completion process is a bit hellish.
Getting perfection is already a great job and accomplishment, you need to gain maximum friendship with all your NPCs, ship all your items, blow about 13,000,000g with a structure that you barely use as you are in the game now.
But in addition to perfection, there is the achievement that requires you to go beyond that, get all the books in the game and get the most out of all your skills and complete them.
Prairie King’s Journey is an optional Shooting M-Up mini-game, but if you want all the achievements, you’ll need to beat it without dying once. This is a very accurate and challenging task.
2 Cookie Clicker
Surprisingly strategic
You might write down cookie clickers as another idol game that asks nothing but unconsciously clicking for hours. But there are so many strategies that need to be adopted if you want to reach the end. That’s a ridiculous feat.
Of the 637 achievements, 8% solid plans, build creation, upgrades, actively click on golden cookies and try to incorporate combos with each other for a chance of achievement.
If you think that Cookie Clicker’s endgame is wild and it’s just a matter of creating a good build and waiting, then you’re dead by mistake. Even the best possible build would take hundreds of years to get the last few results.
With my 2,300-hour cookie clicker, I spent a fair amount of time opening a game on my side monitor, grabbing golden cookies quickly, selling buildings for buffs, taking out loans, summoning another cookie to something quite wild.
1 Tower united
Continue gambling
If you want a game that is essentially VRChat without VR, but has lots of great mini-games and attractions to make up for it, Tower Unite is what you’re looking for.
This is the only game I’ve seen on Steam, which is that it has quite a big follow and 36 results, with an average completion rate of 0.0%. There are a whopping 651 unlocking items, all encouraging you to master every aspect of the game.
Certainly, it’s a bit of a brain-sharp and easy, like wearing a workshop model or visiting another player, but it has accomplishments to land hole-in-ones on 67 different mini golf holes and get a score of 5000 notes in that piano arcade game.
I’m playing this game and having a relaxing and enjoying time. I wondered what would happen for Platinum, but I’m too afraid to consider dedicating my entire life to this game. If you say you legally platinum it, then I don’t believe you.
