Gaming industry analysts have spoken with Bloomberg and predicted that the Nintendo Switch 2 will enjoy the biggest console launch to date, despite costing at least $399, and perhaps $499.
Bloomberg said there are very high expectations within the industry and the investment community for the launch of Nintendo’s new console, citing a group of analysts “communicating regularly with (Nintendo) and its software and hardware partners.” One analyst, Sanford C. Bernstein’s Robinzou, said he hopes the console will be launched in June, which is consistent with other reports and polygon’s own calculations, based on the first switch rollout.
Zhu said he expects Nintendo to have an astounding 6-8 million switch two units for the device launch. This is previous reports that Nintendo will delay the console launch in 2025 and build the stock, along with comments from Nintendo itself, and that it plans to head towards scalping and resale at launch.
Nevertheless, it is an unprecedented person. If so, it almost certainly leads to a record launch of the machine. Nintendo sold 2.7 million Switches in the first month, while Sony sold 4.5 million PlayStation 5 consoles in the first quarter. Analyst Serkan Toto predicts that sales will also be driven by a strong software lineup with solid Day One third-party support. “They will sell Switch 2 boat roads, regardless of most prices, especially in the first few months,” Toto said.
Regarding prices, the analysts spoken by Bloomberg are unanimous in hoping the Switch 2 will cost at least $399, which also agrees with passthecontroller’s own analysis. Some people end up at $449 or $499 due to fear of the cost of components and the impact of US tariffs. At $499, it costs the same price as the PlayStation 5 ($50 more than the digital-only model).
All eyes will be on Nintendo’s Switch 2 Direct Livestream on April 2nd, when expected to announce the console’s release date, price, and game lineup.
