Saber Interactive claims that despite radio silence regarding famous titles such as The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake, all previously announced games are still in development.
The Warhammer 40,000 was announced by Space Marine 3, Saber Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits, tweeting to reassure studio fans that everything announced is still in work.
“Saber Interactive is one of the world’s largest independent developers,” says Willits. “We’re working on a number of games in many different genres. Everything we talked about is still in development. We’ll share information about upcoming games when there’s something cool to share.”
The most obvious subject of Willit’s statement is the Kotol Remake, one of the game’s most elusive projects. The highly anticipated remake, announced in 2021, appears to have changed hands many times, stopped development and resumed again, and could not be realized four years later.
In April 2024, Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch confirmed that the company took Kotor during a split from the Embracer Group and the game is still actively developed.
“It’s obvious and we’re working on this,” he said at the time. “It’s been in the press many times. What I say is that it’s dedicated to ensuring that the game is alive and well and exceeds consumer expectations.”
Willit’s statement coming in almost 12 months reaffirms the citation of Kulch. But even now, I still can’t see any remake of Kotoll beyond the original announcement video.
Saber has other games in other games, including the number of plans this year. John Carpenter’s toxic commando and Jurassic Park survival are still declining in 2025, but neither has a release date. Saber is also working on a brand new Turok game and an untitled avatar: The Last Airbender title.
