- The Iron Man repelling explosion is nerfed with a new Marvel rival patch.
- Human Torch has gained buffs on his main attack damage output and ultimate ability.
- The developer balances the abilities of the heroes with mid-season patch adjustments.
Netease aims to release a new patch for Marvel Rivals later this week. This aims to nerf a hero who shouldn’t get a buff in the first place.
The hero I’m referring to is nothing more than Iron Man. Character explosions have gained important nerfs, which reduces their effectiveness.
According to NetEase, the midseason balance patch for Season 1.5 will drop on March 13th on all platforms. The main hero changes here include adjustments to the human torch, to the nerf to Iron Man, and to the cloak & dagger (again).
Duelist
Human torch
The fiery hero boosts his main attack damage output and ultimate abilities, increasing the chances of solo takedowns.
- Increase the fire cluster fire rate from 120m/s to 150m/s and increase the number of projectiles from 12 to 14.
- Increases the energy cost of a supernova (ultimate ability) from 3,400 to 4,000. Increases the damage of the activated wave from 70 to 80, and the damage of the flame tornado increases from 100 seconds per 100 to 120 per second.
Iron Man
The Armored Avenger has seen slight adjustments to his main attacks in both states, balancing his midrange attacking capabilities.
- Repel blasts reduce direct hit damage from stages 1 and 2 from 55 to 40. Increases spellfield damage from 35 to 50. Reduces direct hit damage from Stage 3 from 65 to 50. Increases spell field damage from 40 to 60.
- Reduced Repetitive Explosion (Armor Overdrive) Direct Hit Damage has been reduced from 55 to 50. Increases spell field damage from 55 to 65.
Strategist
Cloak & Dagger
The duality duo is versatile in a variety of team compositions, seeing improvements in healing abilities.
- Increases healing effects from Lightforce Dagger against hit allies from 10 to 16. Reduces the amount of spell field healing generated by hitting 18-16.
Overall, these seem like a positive change by developers. Coupled with Iron Man’s Unibeam Buff and the repetitive explosion of the characters, it made him a bit more powerful in almost every skirmish.
Netease has yet to announce anything, but Season 2 should be announced soon. This means playing new batches of Heroes and Villains again.
In other Marvel rival news, if you notice that you’ve been dropped from the level by Jeff the Landshark, the character creator has a hint for you: git gud. No, really, she just says she’s getting better and that’s probably a matter of skills.
Don’t be surprised to see Marvel Rivals crossover like any other entertainment property, as Netease himself confirmed it in the company’s latest revenue report.
