Hazelight’s latest Co-Op Adventure, Split Fiction, officially surpassed the one million copies sold in its first 48 hours, setting up a new record for the studio.
The news was announced on Bluesky, with the official account saying, “All love is overwhelming for our game!
In particular, this is 1 million copies It soldwhich means there could be more than that playing split fiction. Every copy of the game comes with a friend’s pass where friends can play the entire game for free with their buyers. Not everyone takes advantage of that option (some people play local cooperatives, others play with people who already own the game, and others, but it’s still playing split fiction.
This is a massive sales jump from Hazelight’s final game, and requires two. But it is considered an impressive milestone in itself, with Studio Head’s Joseph’s fare saying it proves players want a co-op game.
In a 9/10 review, he called “a roller coaster of constantly refreshing gameplay ideas and styles and it’s extremely difficult to get away,” and really dug into split fiction.
