A cozy game has a trick to gameplay variety. They hold hands like pastel colours and Lo-Fi music.
Whether they’re fun little Timewesters or an important part of the integrated gameplay loop, these games love to throw things that are totally different from the standard, like the sides.
I think all of these games can offer something incredibly cozy and comforting and small to purely enjoy. It doesn’t matter if it gives you anything to help progress.
From arcade games to main games and constant meshed mini-games, all of which are very different from the standard and are truly fun. Plus, all of these contribute to the comfortable atmosphere of these games.
8 Magical Delicacy
You’re being cooked
I have to overall say I give it props and say the best part of the game is that almost every action you can do is have a mini-game behind it.
Cooking and chopping and boiling can all be monotonous if the same every time, but this game adds most timing challenges and button prompts to keep the ingredients ready fun.
Plus, I really enjoy the process than the platform and exploration of the game, and I was pretty pleased considering that preparing your ingredients and cooking meals is a core aspect of magical subtlety.
If you’re interested in Metroidvania’s platformer with cooking mini-games, don’t let you stop me just because I’m very critical of those aspects. This is a game that is fun for the mini-game despite its flaws.
7 Mysims Kingdom
Built for scaling
Maybe I’m biased towards growing up in the series, but even today I can enjoy the MySims series because it’s a rather laidback little adventure sandbox game, especially MySims Kingdom.
Despite the snippets of respect from this series, it’s a great time and allows people to solve problems by creating structures through truly fun building games reminiscent of the creative mode of Minecraft.
The entire game travels around the kingdom and visits a bunch of islands, all painted in unique styles, helping people through fun mini-games and fun puzzles.
Is this a strange Sims spinoff made for kids? of course. That doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy it and I’m grateful for the way the game protects my attention and loves this curated, enjoyable experience.
6 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
At least it’s a little comfortable
Despite the fact that I thought of it right away, I was hesitant to include Breath of the Wild, but essentially many people consider it a cozy game and it has a great mini-game boat. So I’m here.
For one, the paraglider minigame is a big challenge that I recorded too many attempts just to try a little bit more than last time, and the shield surfing minigame on the mountains is even better.
It’s no surprise that the whole game is just messing around and doing whatever you can see before you, so you can have a pretty cozy, lovely time, surrounded by sidelines in all sorts of fun.
Many shrines have almost mini-games, and the dedicated playable mini-games of Overworld are often and even more than the kingdom’s tears.
5 Button City
Beep Boop
For cozy and adorable games that take place completely within the arcade, it’s not a big shock that Button City has plenty of fun mini-games that are more appealing than some full games.
You can jump on an arcade racer who absolutely nails the feeling of driving and drifting, and to be honest, an arcade racer who is an armored racer, and to be honest, an arcade racer.
This game feels like it lacks attention like I did. From the moment of emotional storyline, we move to a complete visual novel just for that hell. I have no choice but to respect and worship confusion in such a cute game.
If you like arcades and want a way to constantly distract you in a good way, this game has it on spades in addition to having great characters, a lovely cel shade style and a slightly heartbreaking story.
4 Stardew Valley
Infinite content
Stardew Valley is a game that focuses on allowing you to do dozens of things at any time, with a fairly selection of mini-games integrated into both the main quest and the fun side of options.
One has what Simon says in the various games that are all scattered about funky stone statues, games with Abigail, and gambling compared to all-pale fairs, but there’s more.
This means you need to play the Prairie King arcade game journey.
Then there is Junimo Kart, a much less torture counterpart. This is a nice little auto runner that will make you pretty tough, but I feel very happy to finish it when you lock it well.
3 Short hike
Constant distraction
I absolutely love short hikes. It’s a game that can be beaten in minutes, but it’s highly recommended to be distracted from the main pass as much as possible in dozens of mini-games.
Run away to play volleyball, drive a boat, collect guns with guns for checkpoints, collect shells at the shore, and race against enthusiastic creatures.
This game is basically 100 side quests packed into a 5-minute main story, and most of the time leads to one of the biggest mini-games I’ve ever seen, even if they’re mostly simple.
I adore distracted, gather golden feathers before fishing on the dock, fish for a while, drive the boat for no reason, forgetting completely about my main purpose.
2 Animal Crossing: New Leaves
Full packed
New Horizon was pretty disappointing on the mini-game side of things, but with Animal Crossing: New Leaf, it’s a bit overwhelming to try and try and do it all over again.
On Main Island, the process of joining a small escape room, playing panel depon, and trying to decorate your home the way your silly HOA actually likes is a kind of mini-game in itself.
But then you and your companions can play 12 different tours, including appearance and seek, fishing competition, item matching games and more.
In addition to being a huge variety, every tour has some difficult options depending on previous performances. Sometimes there are 14 different difficulties, but that’s just a little.
1 Melatonin
Sleeping on the beat
Of course, a game that is completely mini-game and has an incredible vibe will definitely climb the ranks on this list.
Each game offers a fair amount of visual varieties, from dreaming of shopping to eating a slice of pizza, when you tap a button and perform an action with a beat.
This is a very great rhythm game, and even if you’re a terrible game on it, the atmosphere remains pure white and I have no choice but to continue playing the remix levels every time I launch it.
Certainly, I might always fall off the beat, but I listen to incredibly cold and catchy songs while watching the guy shoot on the hologram for at least a few minutes. That’s really important.
