I want to start this list with Proviso – difficulty is one of the most subjective parts of the game. I’m great with games like Isaac’s unionMany people say it’s incredibly difficult and perhaps scary with a simple music game Rhythm Sprout.
It all depends on our unique skill set and reflexes, which doubles for the Metroidvania genre.
The ultimate boss is often not the most difficult, as most Metroidvania games give you power as you progress. Play against people with fewer tools on the tool belt or fewer tools that appear to be extremely overwhelmed at the points of the game you encounter.
However, most of the time I focused on the bosses I encountered on the regular course of the game, rather than on the optional super bosses.
With that in mind, here is a list of some iconic Metroidvania bosses that are more difficult than the last boss.
10 Hollow Knight
Mantis Road
If you play Hollow Knightyou already know it’s very challenging and mostly black and white Metroidvania. It’s probably not entirely soul-like, but it’s pretty awful.
And as someone who recently beat it again, I really mean that when I say I struggled with Mantis Lord more than a big fight with the true final boss of the game.
The battle with the nominal hollow knight is very challenging, but it is also something that has a very clear narrative, and at what point you should prepare on a large scale. This wasn’t when I accidentally came across the arena on Mantis Road and tripped over some bosses in the game.
This scary threesome is quickly alternating and alternating with each other. I probably played over and over again until I finally had a very good handle for them and it turned out I was a victory.
If you face it quite a while later, they may be easier Hollow Knightbut early in the game, Mantis Road is a true nightmare.
9 Bloodstained: Night Ritual
Bloodless
I discussed a bit about including Alfred or bloody here and eventually settled on the latter for a few reasons. Alfred is very annoying Bloodyhe is not a very challenging boss fight. He is a constant stimulant and forces you to chase him.
In contrast, bloodlessness is either your boss Bloody. She uses blood magic to spray the entire arena, boxing you, even trying to make you a masturbate with blood torrents.
She also likes to deflect you with a blood umbrella, but that doesn’t seem to matter until they turn into homing missiles. And if you’re not fast enough, she will start to heal herself.
Like Mantis Lord, the bloodless trick is to learn all her narratives and eagerly avoid all her attacks. Otherwise, Miriam will become a bloody shell on the floor.
8 Ender Lily: The Knights’ Quietus
Dark Witch Elaine
One of my least favorite phenomena is when I unexpectedly run into shmup sections on platformers and other genres. Don’t get me wrong, Shmup is also a great genre, but it brings certain expectations.
And frankly, Ender Lily: The Knights’ Quietus It’s difficult enough just to focus on the platform.
Dark Witch Elaine is a boss unlike others Ender lily. She attacks the screen with true bullet hell and runs and avoids your life as dependent on it.
It’s much less about actual combat than careful positioning, so you still need to have the opportunity to connect and win all the attacks.
7 Gal Guardians: Demon Purge
Crown

Inti creates |

As someone I loved Gal Guardians: Demon PurgeI really didn’t think the fight with Little Crona would be as difficult as it turned out.
It’s clear that Inti Creates was simply inspired Castlevania: Symphony of the NightNot only does she float in a castle made up of mini-chronus, Megaman. The latter is caused by the design of her castle and how slow she is in the battle where she is firing an electric ball of energy.
Crona’s first form was inspired by the Legion boss battle, but I realized this was much more difficult. Despite its size, it can be difficult to get beads into floating castles. When you get a good angle, the Crona will usually confuse you by firing a huge laser.
Certainly the final boss of the game is a challenge, but for this Widdle Planckster demon, I have had a much worse time in the times of things.
6 Castlevania: The Order of Ecleccia
Goliath
Castlevania: The Order of Ecleccia It has some of the most insane and ferocious boss fights throughout Metroidvania’s game line. But what’s still bothering me is the boss battle with Goliath.
This wasn’t the first Frankenstein-inspired boss battle in the series, but it’s the most difficult thing I’ve faced. Goliath is not only huge, but he is also fast. And he bumps into him like a head-on collision with a truck.
Goliath can easily kill Shanoa with some solid hits. That means you have to avoid almost everything the wood throws at you, from huge fists to catastrophic kicks to everything in between.
Guard yourself and equip the appropriate glyphs. Otherwise you won’t have a chance to reach the final boss.
5 Blasphemy 2
Great kindergarten radame
Skeletons are usually not that difficult in the game. The majority are low-level groans just to test your temperament.
And it is true that the great perceptor Radames was a relatively early boss battle. Blasphemy 2he is also challenging.
He is not only a multi-phase boss battle, but he is also armed with a variety of powerful attacks, including his clubs and magical onslaughts.
Certainly, you are allowed to bring your helping hand in the form of Yerma, but if you are the stubborn kind, you probably would have faced a solo with him. This bone boy becomes a serious threat Blasphemy 2.
4 Metroid Dred
Experiment number Z-57
Metroid Dred It’s a game we didn’t want to get. And to my pleasant surprise, it was worth a long wait.
It’s not just filling the important gap Metroid Lore, but it introduced some intense survival horror as you avoided some very bad robots.
With that in mind, it’s not true Metroid Some intense boss fight free experience and qualified for the experiment Z-57.
Your normal attacks will not stop it, so force missile use and charging beam attacks.
Still, you’ll have to wait for something to hit on the screen. Meanwhile, it dodges the rapids of laser beams and waves of harmful energy. Truly a hot-blooded alien threat Metroid Dred.
3 Astaroth: Tears of the Earth
Gemini
Platform |
PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One |

Dangen Entertainment |
Genre |
Metroidvania |

All the bosses Astaroth: Tears of the Earth It’s a big challenge, but the one that gave me the most trouble was Gemini.
The first phase wasn’t that difficult, as you have to avoid projectiles that were spit out primarily by the giant hovering face. But that second phase is amazing and why I included Gemini on this list.
Gemini not only gets a rotating shield made up of two giant faces, but also becomes much more aggressive. It also needs to be perfectly positioned on a constantly moving platform.
You might not think it’s that tough, but this is one of the few bosses in the game and after repeated attempts, I thought I couldn’t beat it. The battle with the big snake at the end of the game was much easier in contrast.
2 I’m going to adventure despicable
Kraken
There are all kinds of nightmare monsters that will be defeated I’m going to adventure despicable. Honorable despicable infects virtually everything in the eyes and turns them into monsters that make them resident evil I’m proud.
But the boss I had stopped playing the game was a powerful Kraken.
See, virtually every other boss battle takes place on a stationary stage. That’s not the case for Kraken. You will face it on a giant bobing ship. You will need to find a cannon on a moving target and navigate its tentacles and projectiles while firing the cannon.
The more damage Kraken takes, the more furious and quicker it becomes. You need to join your game to get the chance to sink a giant beast.
1 Castlevania: Moon Circle
Calmilla
Being the first to follow in an extraordinary footsteps Night Symphony He must have been scared. in the end, Castlevania: sotn It is still considered one of the most iconic games in the series.
nevertheless Monthly Yen It’s not seen very well. It’s still a remarkable adventure. Also a bonus is the insane boss fight, especially against Calmilla.
The underground waterway where she lives was a nightmare in itself, but Calmilla was an even greater threat.
She fights you over the head of a giant grin, flapping her wings, zapping everything under her, and even trying to fry you with a laser. If you are hit by many of her attacks, you will also be tormented by poison.
The most difficult part of the fight is placing Nathan so that he can damage her while she moves around with immunity. And unlike your fight with Dracula, you can’t dodge most of her attacks simply by diving into the air.
She may look like a cute woman, but this devil is one of the most annoying bosses I’ve faced Castlevania series.
