Let me start by expressing my deep love for the platformer genre. I grew up with something like that Mario and Megamanaccordingly, I fell in love with jumping to Goombas and Pew Pewing Robot Masters.
It took a lot of time and practice to hone my skills. But do you know something even wilder? Platformer without jump buttons! After all, not jumping usually means falling from the edge into a bottomless pit.
But these are not original adventures. There are several puzzle platformers, some enthusiastic, arcade colour platformers, and even creative Metroidvania in the mix.
So, put your expectations aside and cover some great platformers without the jump button!

Spload
Pestonite apprentice
How to do that Spload Avoiding the jump button is to use explosive concoctions to move yourself forward. This honestly reminds me of one other experience: the Plague Night DLC. Shovel Night: Treasure.
That said, the game maker’s adventure is a bit more retro and modest than that adventure, but it’s quite original.
Push your heroes forward with the power of an explosion and you can also throw them at you to destroy the dangers of your path and benefit from secondary items like parachutes.
It’s a cute little adventure with great music, but there’s something better on this list!

witch
The eye for the award
Usually, when someone steals from a witch, they are surrounded by a big old curse themselves or thrown into a pot for cooking. But that’s not the way witch I’ll play.
For some reason, when a suspicious knight steals from the witch’s protagonist, she transforms into a floating eyeball and chases after him. There is a point of originality, but this is all kinds of weirdness.
witch You bounce off the edge, stop in the air, and play almost like a pinball machine, doing your best to ruin many boss days.
Thanks to this design, the game really doesn’t require a jump button. It also has a cartoonish art design and bumping soundtrack. Not bad for old bones!

Anyone involved in elementary school science classes is filled with magnets. But if you have a magnet like that Super Mugbotthey probably teach the class.
Master positive red and negative blue polarity to push and attract this colorful 16-bit adventure.
My long-standing platform instinct may be hesitant to lose the magnet jump button, Super Mugbot It pulls it apart quite well.
If everything else fails, you can collect star fragments and unlock additional challenges just for those who love to suffer.

I still remember when they announced Snake pass As a kind of second arrival to an era that gave us the following title Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64. Heck, it even featured David Weiss’ musical talent!
And while it didn’t tickle gamer fantasies, this was a clever way to the platform without a jump button.
You will learn to turn, climb and stretch the path to victory. Unless you’re an impatient kind, you’ll probably have a good time on this unique adventure.

Don’t trick your name. The game is called Atomic: Rungunjumpgunyou will not jump to the game.
You can always move forward, propel yourself vertically by shooting on the floor, and even advance to break the threat of your path. There’s only one catch. You will need to take damage and regenerate your level from the start.
Just remembering your time in the game will help you feel your hands start to sweat. It’s a fierce puzzle platformer and very tough. But it’s incredibly well done and fun.
If you’re looking for a challenge, this is one of the platformers without jump buttons.

Corruption
Flesh nightmare
I spoke Corruption Previously, and usually consider it to be more Metroidvania. But I’ve also repeatedly said that all Metroidvanias have a platform for them. That’s why I include it on this list.
Who needs the jump button when you can crawl and hang from the wall or ceiling?
The only thing you need Corruption Otherwise, humans may be wise to your scheme and light you with a flamethrower.
This is a fun, twisted platformer experience, but there are some really great examples below!

Yoku Island Express It’s a very unique adventure.
Even today there was no other experience like this pinball style Metroidvania.
Therefore, there is no need for a jump button. You need to use flippers to bounce small heroes around these vast, colorful biomes.
Like other examples in this genre, you will gain new abilities to help advance and use side quests to help people.

We’ve already talked about one unique adventure, so how about another one? Bomb chicken It seems like what happens when you marry KFC Bomberman.
The story is totally crazy and features fantastic SNES-style graphics. Instead of jumping, you control a chicken that can lay a bomb instead of an egg.
Put your stacks to gain height, kick bombs with threats, navigate this increasingly challenging and ridiculous world.
Really, this is one of my favorite puzzle platformers. But we still have two more adventures that drove it out for the gold trophy.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
It’s time for adventure!
I wasn’t selling it with the original idea Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. I’m usually a fan of traditional platformers so this cute puzzle platformer didn’t talk to me.
I then actually tried out the game and quickly fell in love with this completely fascinating little adventure.
The little guy may not be an action hero, but he looks at every perspective and manages it. Twisting and turning the diorama stage to find hidden merchandise and navigate the traps is fun.
If that’s not enough, they somehow fit into a challenging boss fight with a series of eccentric enemies.
A ridiculous adventure, but we saved the best in the end!

A look VVVVV It doesn’t necessarily look like something special. It’s minimalist and looks like a classic game. But this puzzle platformer is one of the best games I’ve played.
This is a game where you can press a button to shift gravity instead of jumping. But it’s not as easy as it looks, as dangerous traps are scattered everywhere in the world.
The great thing is that you can explore at your own pace, and the only thing that hinders you is your own abilities.
And trust me, you need all your skills to overcome some challenges before you.
Reveals all sorts of great lore as you play and soaks up the catchy Chipton soundtrack. A truly outstanding game where you don’t need jumps.
